Hello, my name is Hayley and I am the founder of Transform Tutoring, a learning service located in Canberra City and North Canberra.

I am a qualified and experienced Primary Teacher with over 10 years teaching experience. I have been fortunate enough to have taught in three different schools across the ACT. I have experience teaching students from K-6.  

Over the past few years I have become passionate about teaching writing and spelling as I realised this should be a fundamental requirement in our primary schools. I believe this is due to students:

• Lacking the confidence in seeing themselves as a writer

• Poor understanding of skills and knowledge to write and spell. Lockdowns have contributed to gaps in student learning.

• Negative attitude towards writing and spelling as they find it boring or too hard/easy.

• Disengagement due to heavy and/or confusing content that isn’t relevant to them as a learner.

I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable in taking risks with their writing. My aim is for students to enjoy the writing process because they can rely on the strategies that I teach them.
